Interior Design: Bedroom
I thoroughly enjoyed creating this project as I am really enthusiastic about creating interesting spaces.
This piece took me roughly 12 hours to construct including the basic wooden room construction and wallpapering process.
I did find it a challenging project as everything had to be created on a miniature scale (including the size of the duvet and pillow set pattern). This meant visiting various fabric shops to compare prices, styles and sizes of fabric to suit my needs.
The colour scheme was that of floral details with warm undertones to create an inviting environment that can be translated to a life size design of a commercial bedroom.
Everything had to be made and painted by hand, including the changing screen (which displays hand painted dresses and shoes as decoration on the outside, to fit with the floral colour scheme).
The pictures were made using painted matchsticks/cardboard as boarders.
I had to improvise with the window frame and use strips of white tape because of the short space of time I had to complete the project.
The duvet, pillows, cushions and window seat cushion were all hand sewn and stuffed with kapok.
The mirror behind the changing screen was created by framing an flat piece of silver fool with gold painted cardboard ( not an easy task!) and adding a gold button to the top of the mirror frame as a centre piece.
